Hagit Kirshner Shalom - Play Therapist and General Therapist

Woman with glasses smiles in front of shelves with plush toys and plants.

I am passionate about helping children, adults, and families navigate life's challenges.

Over the past decade, I've worked across private practice, schools, and community settings in three countries (and continents!). Living and working across different cultures has strengthened my appreciation for the many ways people experience family, relationships, identity, and change. I particularly enjoy working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and supporting those navigating life transitions, parenting, relocation, or other significant life events.

As a mum of three teenagers, I understand that parenting can be both deeply rewarding and incredibly challenging. While every family is different, I'm dedicated to helping parents build confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children, and find approaches that align with their values.

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, exploring nature, or staying active outdoors.

Clinical Approach

My work is grounded in attachment, relational, and trauma-informed approaches. I believe that every person is unique, so therapy should never be one-size-fits-all. Together, we will explore what is happening in your life and draw on approaches that best support your goals and needs.

For adults, this may include working through trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or patterns that no longer serve you.

As a Registered Play Therapist, I find it so rewarding when working with children, as play is their natural language. Through play, children can safely express emotions, process difficult experiences, and develop resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation. I also enjoy working alongside parents and caregivers, recognising that meaningful change often happens when the important adults in a child's life feel supported too.

I have expert skills in EMDR with Children and Adults, Play Therapy, Theraplay, and parent-focused interventions.
