Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at hello@littleshopofpop.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

If you're experiencing emotional distress, relationship difficulties, or simply want to better understand yourself and your behaviours, therapy can be highly beneficial. However, the decision to seek therapy is a personal one. Our team is always here to discuss your options and help you make an informed decision.

At Pop Psychology, we offer a wide range of psychological services, including individual therapy, relationship counselling, as well as child and adolescent therapy. Our experienced psychologists are trained in various areas such as anxiety, depression and trauma, and relationship issues to provide tailored support for our clients. More info can be found on our Our Services page.

We accept clients of all ranges and with varying presentations. To get support with matching with the best clinician, reach out to us on 07 3368 1631 or 07 3899 1137. We also advise having a look at our team's individual profiles here for more information.

Clients can see our clinicians through a Mental Health Care Plan, Private Health Insurance, NDIS, QPS, WorkCover, RSL or access clinicians at a lower fee if paying privately. We can also discuss fee reductions in case of financial difficulty.

A 50-minute session with the following clinicians is charged at:

  • Clinical Psychologist: $260
  • Registered Psychologist: $220
  • Social Worker and Counsellor: $120

Yes, you can choose your own psychologist at Pop Psychology. We have a diverse team of experienced psychologists, counsellors and mental health social workers who are trained in different areas. You can learn more about them on our website to select the one that best suits your needs.

Booking an appointment with us is easy! For ease of access, we offer multiple methods of making bookings. You can call us, email us, submit a request online or book via our portal directly. More info can be found on our Bookings Page.

Yes, all therapy sessions at Pop Psychology are confidential. We follow strict guidelines to protect your privacy and confidentiality as mandated by law and professional ethics. Please see our privacy policy for the limitations to confidentiality

Typically, each therapy session at Pop Psychology lasts for about 50 minutes. However, the length of a session can vary depending on the client's needs and the type of therapy being provided.

The frequency of therapy sessions varies from person to person. It depends on your unique needs, goals, and the nature of your concerns. Your psychologist will work with you to determine the best course of action.

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for you and your psychologist to get to know each other. You will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your background, and your therapy goals. The psychologist will also explain the therapy process and answer any questions you might have. Learn more on our Getting Started page

Many health insurance providers offer coverage for psychological services. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to understand the specifics of your coverage.

We understand that sometimes you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. We kindly ask that you provide us with at least 48 hours notice to avoid cancellation fees. You can do this by calling us directly or by sending us an email.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government initiative that provides support to Australians with disability, their families and carers. It offers funding for services and supports like therapy. Eligibility for NDIS funding is based on certain criteria, including having a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities.

Yes, you may be able to use your NDIS funding for therapy services. Pop Psychology offers a variety of services that fall under the NDIS support categories. We support both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants.

If your NDIS funding runs out, you may need to self-fund your therapy sessions until your next plan is ready. However, it's always advisable to keep track of your NDIS funds to avoid any disruptions to your therapy.
