Psychologist ANASTASIA IVLEVA

Hello and welcome! I work with young people and those who are young at heart.  ADHD, ASD and complex PTSD are my areas of interest. I work in a neuro-affirmative manner and accept clients supported by the NDIS. I also provide relationship therapy to LGBTQIA+, polyamorous, and neurodiverse folks. Most recently, I developed an interest in dissociative conditions and I utilise an integrative, client-focused approach using evidence-based modalities, including EMDR, IFS and DBT.

I am a full member of EMDRAA - meaning that I completed Level 1 and Level 2 training, as well as mandatory supervised practice. I am slowly working towards my EMDR endorsement.

In my previous life, I explored a corporate career for 10 years, and travelled the world, learning languages and hiking up 'paths less travelled'. I still enjoy travel and learning about the world's indigenous cultures. I have a strong interest in using music, dance and other forms of movement as part of therapeutic practice.

In my downtime, I enjoy science fiction and fantasy, dabble in philosophy and politics, and maintain a slightly less consistent presence on social media @anastasia.psych.

Clinical Approach

My passion lies in demystifying psychology, making therapy more accessible for clients of all backgrounds and neurotypes. My intention is to incorporate a light and compassionate approach in my work, as we explore life’s questions – big and small. Having worked with youth, I tend to connect well with teens and together we build a bridging link to the rest of their family. Additionally, working with late-diagnosed (and yet to be diagnosed) ADHD/ASD adults is one of my interest areas, and I hold a neuro-affirmative and trauma-informed stance in my work. My modalities include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR - Level 2 trained)
  • Schema Therapy
  • Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
